Abigail Esposito Participates in Mount Union English Society

2015 Feb 25

Abigail Esposito, a/an Communication Studies major of Louisville, Ohio, is a member of the University of Mount Union's English Society, a society based around students' passion for words and literature. Those involved with English Society participate in a number of endeavors from watching and discussing movies derived from literature to successfully planning charity events to engage students in service throughout campus.

During the 2014 fall semester, English Society hosted a children's book drive. The books collected were donated to the Alliance Family and Children organization. Most of the books served as the Christmas presents for area children in need. With teamwork and determination, English Society collected more than 200 books. Students enriched the holiday season for various families through what the members love cherish the most: stories.

Led by president Garrett Graber and vice president Abbey Schlanz, English Society is planning another charity event - a children's and teen's clothing drive.

Additionally, the organization is continuing to make plans to publish an anthology of numerous works by students outside of Mount Union. Hence, English Society is providing an opportunity for others to write and pursue their love of literature that they might not have had otherwise.

Other members of the executive board include Kristin Werstler, student senate representative and Jenna Bluedorn, head of public relations. English Society members include: Layn Palmer, Brooke Powell, Matthew Gorman, Jamie Laubacher, Mackenzie McCain, Rachel Brumenschenkel, Abigail Esposito and Sam Cooper.
