Megan Ostrofsky to Perform in Mount Union Play "The Phantom Tollbooth"

2013 Sep 30

ALLIANCE, Ohio a" Megan Ostrofsky of North Canton, OH is a cast member in the reader's theatre interpretation of "The Phantom Tollbooth" to be presented at 8 p.m. October 3-5 in Campus Grounds on the University of Mount Union's campus.

Ostrofsky is a sophomore theatre major and plays the role of Princess Pure Reason in the play.

The play, written by Susan Nanus, is based on the classic children's book written by Norton Juster. The Saturday evening performance of the show will be broadcast live on WRMU 91.1.

In "The Phantom Tollbooth," the audience will experience Milo's adventures in the Land of Wisdom where he discovers the importance of thinking. While there, Milo learns of an argument between King Azaz of Dictionopolis and the Mathemagician of Digitopolis and the banishment of the Princesses Sweet Rhyme and Reason. The knowledge Milo picks up on his journey helps him, the watchdog named Tock, and their reluctant traveling companion, the Humbug, rescue the Princesses and set things right in the Land of Wisdom. The audience will be entertained by the witty text, the satire, and the humor of this show, and will learn the same timeless lesson Milo comes to understand - to cherish life's little wonders and in the process gain an understanding of the true meaning of what is and what is not possible.

Campus Grounds is located in Hoover Price Campus Center past the WRMU radio station into the B&B and Campus Grounds. These performances, which are appropriate for children and adults of all ages, are free and open to the public. To listen to a podcast about the upcoming play, visit mountunion.edu/2013-podcasts.
