The following students were acknowledged at the University of Mount Union's Senior Recognition and Honors Convocation of 2025.

The University of Mount Union is pleased to announce that DaeDae Nash '25 has been named its 2025 Outstanding Senior.

The following students were selected to present their research during the University of Mount Union's 18th annual Student Celebration Honoring Our Latest Academic Research (SCHOLAR) Day.

The University of Mount Union Concert Choir, Cantus, Kantorei, and Voce Bassa, under the direction of Beth Polen, will present a spring concert entitled, Awakening on Sunday, April 27. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Brush Performance Hall of the Giese Center for the Performing Arts. The concert features works by Monteverdi, MacMillan, J.S. Bach, Joseph Martin, among others.

The University of Mount Union is hosting a new exhibit, featuring the Senior Culminating Experience projects of 12 UMU seniors. The exhibit will be available to view April 17 through May 11 in the Sally Otto Gallery.

The Department of Performing Arts at the University of Mount Union presented its Wind Ensemble Concert, under the direction of Lori Burse, on April 11 in Brush Performance Hall in the Giese Center for the Performing Arts.

The Mount Union Raider Steel Band and Percussion Ensemble will perform its spring concert on Tuesday, April 15 at 7:30 p.m. in Brush Performance Hall of the Giese Center for the Performing Arts.

The Sally Otto Gallery at the University of Mount Union will feature the annual Student Art Exhibit, from March 20 through April 10. The exhibit includes works from 32 Mount Union students including paintings, drawings, photography, graphic design and sculptures.

The Department of Performing Arts at the University of Mount Union will present "Lend Me A Soprano" February 27-March 2 in the Gallaher Black Box Theatre in the Giese Center for the Performing Arts.

The following students have been named to the Dean's List for the fall 2024 semester at the University of Mount Union.

On October 18 and 19, Emily Borroni '25, Leo Sanchez Torres '25, and Shawn Powers '25 presented individual research at the American Physics Society Eastern Great Lakes Fall 2024 Conference at Marietta College in Marietta, OH

Alliance, OH- The University of Mount Union Concert Choir and Cantus will perform as part of the 2024 Winter Festival on December 6 and 7. The show, entitled "The Journey," will be held in Brush Performance Hall in the Giese Center for the Performing Arts. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Doors will open 30 minutes before the show start time.

The Mount Union Marching Band will perform during a showcase on November 22 at 7:30 p.m. in Brush Performance Hall, located in the Giese Center for the Performing Arts. The marching band, under the direction of Jeff Neitzke, will perform its Pregame Show and Soul of R&B Show, which includes works from Earth, Wind, and Fire and Ted White and Aretha Franklin, among others. The band will also perform their Homecoming and Senior Shows with works by Pharell Williams, Mark James, and Rage Against the Machine, plus more.

The Department of Performing Arts at the University of Mount Union will present "The Mystery of Edwin Drood" November 14-17 in Brush Performance Hall in the Giese Center for the Performing Arts.

The University of Mount Union's Department of Nursing is pleased to announce that nursing majors Victoria Hahn '25 and Nia Gribbons '25 were recently named to the 2024-2025 Ohio Student Nurses' Association (OhSNA) Board of Directors.

The Department of Performing Arts at the University of Mount Union will present "The Thanksgiving Play" October 3-6 in the Gallaher Black Box Theatre in the Giese Center for the Performing Arts.

The following students have been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2024 semester at the University of Mount Union.

The University of Mount Union Concert Choir, Cantus, Kantorei, and Voce Bassa, under the direction of Beth Polen, presented a spring concert entitled, "Homecomin" on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27. "Homecomin" included pieces by Kyle Pederson, Moira Smiley, Gustav Holst and Nadia Boulanger, among others.

The following students were selected to present their research during the University of Mount Union's 17th annual Student Celebration Honoring Our Latest Academic Research (SCHOLAR) Day.

The Mount Union Raider Steel Band performed its spring concert on Tuesday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m. in Brush Performance Hall of the Giese Center for the Performing Arts.

Nursing majors at the University of Mount Union took part in the CHE 115 Service Learning Project (SLP) at Washington Elementary, where the students performed and explained chemistry demonstrations to students related to real life medical or health science. Dr. Sheryl Mason, Associate Professor, Department of Biochemistry, Chemistry and Physics, has been doing this project for several years, taking a break during COVID, then resuming in 2023. Mason's goal for the freshmen nursing majors is to research, learn and explain the college-level chemistry behind a fun demonstration. The students then practice teaching the science in a kid-friendly, fun, simplified, yet accurate way. This project is a component of the laboratory part of the course.
